About Idaho Falls
Spread over the Snake River plains in the shadow of the Teton Mountains, Idaho Falls is the county seat of Bonneville County. Originally founded as a hub for
travelers, the city currently supports the major industries of
health care,
travel and business for southeast Idaho. Until a recent boom in high-income commercial and industrial jobs, Idaho Falls had a predominantly
agricultural economy. Idaho Falls is now one of the fastest growing cities in Idaho, and as such has introduced a large number of cultural influences to the city.
Idaho Falls is known regionally for its multitude of cultural destinations and activities, featuring such attractions as the Museum of Idaho, the Bonneville Museum and the Colonial Theater. The city also frequently holds free concerts in city parks, a farmers’ market in the summer and various festivals throughout the year.
